Product Review- Barry M Nail Gold Effect Nail Foil

I spotted this new nail polish in Boots the other day and thought it was a must have especially for the Christmas season coming! I wasn't really keeping my hopes up as this is the first nail polish i have seen that offers a nail foil effect from a bottle! I decided to try it out last night and it did give my nails a gold foil effect to my surprise! It's AMAZING! The beauty of it is that i find i get a bit stingy with my nail foils i
only tend to use them on "special occasions " because firstly they are not the cheapest thing, secondly they are a bit of a pain to apply and thirdly you can't reuse them! I think that is three good reasons to go and try this new nail polish if your a lover of nail foils! They also have it in sliver which no doubt i will go back in and purchase!

So this is the finish product and i couldn't be happier with my nails this week. I decided to do a bit of nail art on top to make them a bit more interesting even though the gold nail foil effect really spoke for it's self! I decided to take inspiration ( basically copy ) a nail foil design i have already and do a leopard print effect. It's very very easy and there are PLENTY of YOUTUBE videos out there you can watch if you want to try it!

So not only did i get the gold nail foil effect polish i also picked up this red glitter nail polish by Barry M too. At the moment boots are doing a offer where if you buy two Barry M polishes you get £1 off so i took that offer straight away! I decided to get this red sparkly polish that i will soon be trying out. It looks like it's a lot more glittery then the other glitter polishes i have. I've also got an ELF gold glitter polish which is good for £1.50 but you need to put it on top of another colour because it's very see through on it's own. I also have a OPI glitter polish which is BEAUTIFUL and has all different colour glitter pieces it in. I'm defiantly a glitter lover when it comes to this time of year! I think looking at the picture below i must have been feeling a bit Christmasy when it came to picking the colours out! I guess it's not long now as were nearly into NOVEMBER!! This year has gone SO fast!

Has anyone else tried out the new Barry M nail foil effect?

Special K Nail Polish.

I was a lucky winner of this beauty of a nail polish below. My family go through i don't know how many boxes of Special K a week and at the moment they are running a competition to win a nail polish every hour.  I entered two codes and one code was a lucky winner! I know a lot of people say they don't win competitions but i REALLY never do so when i got the email i was very excited!

It came through the post within a few days even though it said on the email to give up to 28 days for delivery. It's such a LOVELY shade of red! I personally think you can NEVER have to many red nail polishes as i feel that red is a "safe" colour on nails. This nail polish has to be by far the prettiest nail polish bottle i have! I love the detail on the top it really makes it stand out from other bottles i have.

Has anyone been a lucky winner of these nail polishes by Special K? I'd love to hear how your loving the colour!

Nail Polish Collection & Some Favourites!

Nail polishes... where do i start?! I have a pretty BIG collection of nail polishes that i've accumulated over the past year and a bit. I just love having different colours for different moods, different outfits or different plans i have during the week. I'm also a MASSIVE fan of nail art and use WAH NAILS for a lot of my inspiration! You should check the link out if you haven't already, they are AMAZINGLY talented people!  I resist the urge to paint my nails to often as i don't want my nails to become discoloured or weak so on average i paint my nails once a week normally on a sunday evening in front of the telly!

I always start off by using Nails inc base coat and topcoat, it's by far my favourite and i've tried a fair few! The main reason i use it is because it's VERY quick drying. Although i love painting my nails i'm very impatient and want to get on doing other things instead of sitting there waiting for them to dry. With other base coats and top coats i find that i get side tracked and think they are dry go off and do something and look down and they have smudged! WORSE feeling ever!! I think the Nails Inc base coat & topcoat duo is around £8-9  from Boots if i remember correctly it lasts ages especially the base coat as somehow i always end up just having to go out and purchase the duo again as i always use the topcoat up first! STRANGE!

My Nail Polish Collection

I brought this case from Primark for £4 and it's a perfect size for the moment! I keep everything to do with my nails all together so it's easy to carry around or take downstairs to sit with in front of the telly! I keep my nail polish remover, cotton pads, ear buds to clean around my nail incase i make a mistake, nail art pens, dotting tools, nail foils, nail stickers, fake nails, nail glue and of course lots of nail polishes!

All my nail polishes on my bed

I've never sat and counted how many different bottles i have but i'm guessing i have around 100 different colours and types!

A slightly better picture of them all in my Primark case

My favourite five nail polishes at the moment!

These are my five favourites at the moment! First of all i'm loving my Nails Inc freebie i got a little while ago when Boots were doing that promotion with Diet Coke, if you brought two bottles you got to pick a Nails Inc polish from a selection anyway this one is called Carmel it's perfect of the autumn / winter months coming in and it goes with pretty much everything! Then i've got my Barry M polish in 310 Mushroom, again as you can see i'm loving the darker colours i think i'm just getting in the autumn / winter mood! I then re-brought one of my absolute favourites form ELF  in the colour Mod Maurve. ELF nail polishes are great and i'd suggest checking the link above if you haven't already! All the nail polishes are £1.50 each and they have SO many colours, the only thing is that sometimes they are a bit slow drying! Finally am leaving my summer colours to the end as i'm slowly going to be wearing them less. I've used Barry M 318 in Peach Melba and Topshop 101 in Forget my not SO much recently. They really do brighten up my day!

I could have picked plenty more of my favourites but these are the ones i've been absolutely loving at the moment!

I'm thinking of making this a regular monthly post of the nail polishes i've been loving.  Is anyone else a nail polish fan like i am?!

What's in my bag

Thought i would do a "what's in my bag " post this evening! I'm ALWAYS watching them on Youtube as i'm so NOSEY so i thought i'd do one myself just as a blog post!  I'm sure people reading this will think that i carry to many unnecessary items  in my bag but doesn't every girl?! I know i carry items that i don't use on an everyday basis and i try to leave them at home but i always think what if?  Am i the only one that thinks that about what they carry in their bag?! I always think what if i get a sore throat when i'm out and will need some throat sweets! OK so far this has never happened to me but i'm sure it will ONE DAY
My Bag

I brought this bag a few weeks ago, i've got about ten different satchel type bags but i always feel the need to have just one more! This one is from New Look and i think it was £20 but my sister had her student card and i got it when they had the 20% off promotion so it worked out £16. I decided it looked a bit bare so i went to Primark and picked up a scarf and cut a bit off and just tied it on. I think it makes it look a bit more individual.

Inside my bag

As you can see i have a lot of different " everyday essentials"packed into my bag!

Everyday Scent - Hollister - Crystel Cove

This is my everyday spray that i carry around, i know it's quiet a large bottle but they didn't have it in a smaller size and smells absolutely LOVELY! It was £10 from Hollister stores and it's lasted ages! I've had it for about three months and i spray myself out and about ALL the time! Defiantly going to purchase another bottle when i'm next near a Hollister store!

 My Purse & Diary

I've recently just brought this purse from Primark it was only £4 i think and it's a good size, it fits all my cards, coins and all the rubbish i keep in my purse such as plasters and pictures! I also keep my diary in my bag, it's just a notebook from WHSmiths but i fell in LOVE with the saying and just write in the days and what i'm doing. I mostly have a diary because my work rota changes every week so it's good to keep on top of what venue i'm working at but also the times i'm working!

My Car Keys
Of course i can't forget my car keys or i wouldn't be going anywhere! I'm a proud owner of a Purple Ford KA called Kiera she's a beaut! I've also got my house key and my two fobs for work one to get me through back stage and the other to clock in and out when i'm in work.

My Ipod

This is my retro black and white screen ipod! It's 20gb and it's doing me well! It's got enough memory to hold all my music and the battery life is great! I use to have an ipod touch but i gave it to my boyfriend when i got my iphone! I'm such a GOOD GIRLFRIEND I've also added in my lime & orange tic tac's all i can say about them is YUM!

Little bag inside a big bag!

This was my old make up bag, it was from Primark and was £1.50 but it's just not big enough now especially for all my lipsticks i like to carry! So it's now my bits and bobs bag, it's handy as if i want to change bags i can just put it in and all my stuff is all together.

Everything in my bits & bobs bag

So this is what's in my "bits & bobs bag. As i said earlier i carry a lot of unnecessary items but i can't manage to not carry them in case the day comes when i need them! So i always carry about three different lips products, i've got my trusty Carmex , a plumping lipgloss and a lipstick from Topshop. I also carry Rescue Remedy spray to calm me down if i feel a bit panicky, i know people think that this stuff doesn't work and it's all in your mind if it works or not but as far as i'm concerned it works for me! I've also got my No.7 hand cream for the colder months coming! I carry Strepsils and Paracetamol in case i need it! I've also got some spray deodorant for the summer months that are passing me by to quickly, a comb , hair band, hair clips , a pack of tissues, a nail file , a mirror, a pack of chewing gum and my inhaler for my Asthma but i very very VERY rarely need it but i know the day i go out without it is the day where i will need it! ALWAYS the way!

Well that's everything i carry in my bag everyday! I do sometimes carry my make up on day trips but that's only if i'm out ALL day as if it's just for a few hours i realize that it is a bit unnecessary! I'd like to know if anyone else carries unnecessary items in their bag everyday bag but can't seem to take them out! Hope you all had a lovely weekend and that it didn't go by to quickly!

Product Review- 17 Magnetized Nail Polish

Thought i'd do my FIRST product review today. I'm a big lover of nail polishes and i must have around 100 different brands and colours which can prove hard when i'm trying to decide what colour to paint my nails!  I heard a little bit about this nail polish and then when i saw it advertised on the Boots website i knew it was time to try this nail polish out! I went to Reading on Monday with my mum to visit the Mac counter and we popped into Boots and i picked up a bottle there. I wasn't sure out of the four colours i wanted so i just picked the purple colour as i thought i'd be more likely to wear it!

My younger sister is a bit of a nail polish junkie like me so as soon as she knew i got it she made me try it out on her! I tried it on all her nails and overall wasn't that impressed. I thought it would be more noticeable. I took a photo below of the nail that came out the best, it is noticeable in some lights but on her other nails it didn't really show up. I put a thin layer on all of her nails and then held the magnet that is on top of the bottle over her nail for about 30 seconds onwards. On the bottle there was no guidance on how long to hover the magnet over the nail so i just left it till i could see a pattern appearing. I'm going to try it again on my nails and see if it just takes a bit of practice!

I think there will be plenty of other brands bringing out their own version of this magnetic effect just like they did with the crackled effect nail polishes. I've read a few reviews on this nail polish from other blogs and it seemed to come out better with the other colours so i may get another bottle and try that as i do like the thought behind the effect and how different it looks. I'm glad that nail polish brands are getting more "adventurous" and are bringing out different nail effect polishes as i feel that painted nails are a way of showing your personality and expressing yourself! ( I'm also sorry about the state of my nail! I'm sorting them out tonight! )

I'd LOVE  to hear if anyone else has tried this new nail polish and how they found it!

Free Maincure.

Thought i'd do a little post about this offer floating around on promotional Tampax and Always at the moment. On promotional packs there is a sticker on the box/packet that entitles you to a free maincure. On getting a promotional pack i decided to take up the offer and go for a manicure.

My nails aren't great, i'm not gonna lie and as bad as the habit is i do have a tendency to bite them when i get stressed or nevous so they aren't the longest. I also apply fake nails for two reasons; to stop me from picking and biting my own nails but also to have the desirable nail everyone wants!

I typed in the always/tampax website and found my nearest salon, i then called and booked an appiontment and said i had the promotional sitcker. The salon was about about 10-15 minutes away from my house once i found it! It was the first time i went to a salon in someone's house so i was a bit nervous but it was LOVELY! She was so nice and we got talking and she only opened her salon in April and done the Always/ Tampax promotion to try and get more of a client base and i really hope she does! Her salon was a BEAUTIFUL  and she made me very welcome. I read on the internet that on average the manicure was suppose to last between 10-15 minutes depending on where you go. She spend a whole hour on my nails! She sorted out my curtiles and gave me a hand massage and then i chose my colour. I decided to go for a nude/pink colour as i felt it would go with everything and i didn't want short nails to stand out to much!

I'm very HAPPY with my nails they look a lot more neater especially the cuticles and she gave me some really good tips so hopefully they will start growing! I'm actually going back to her salon on Tuesday to get my eye lashes tinted so i'm very excited about that!

I'd like to hear if anyone else has taken advantage of this promotion!

Charity Shop Finds

Thought i'd do a quick post on all my CHARITY SHOP FINDS. I've been to a few charity shops over the past few days and have found some good BARGAINS so i thought i'd share them all with you!

1. TAPESTRY BAG- £4.50
I visited a charity shop about 15 minutes down the road in a small village near me and found this bag, i thought it was very unusual to all the bags i already own so i grabbed it and thought it would be a great overnight bag as it's a decent size!

2. CHUNKY "GOLD LIKE" BRACELET £1.99
I also found this at the same charity shop and i could't resist it. It looks great bunched with lots of bracelets and bangles. I love the twisted detail the whole way round the bracelet and the detail at the end. It was such a good buy!

I went to WINCHESTER today and these purchases below are from the charity shops in Winchester. There was SO much i saw and liked but i resisted and now i'm really gutted i didn't just spluge and get it all!

3. CHUNKY KNIT CARDIGAN - £5.00
This cardigan was a real good buy especially as winter is FAST  approaching though it doesn't feel like it after the beautiful weather we've had over the past few days! I brought this cardigan as it will not only keep me warm over the next few months it 's a bit of a statement piece and will pretty much go with anything. It's a very chunky knit originally from Debenhams and it actually pretty heavy on, it's suppose to be a small but it's not a tight fit which makes it even better that it's that bit bigger on me.

4. VINTAGE PURSE - 99P

I saw this tucked away today behind lots of bags and i fell in LOVE with it. It's very vintage looking and i love the clasp at the top. I had a look in it when i got home and it says it's real leather! For 99p it's a real bargain!

4. RED SHEER SHIRT- £2.99

This has to be my fave find of the day! It's such a beaut and is a LOVELY bright red colour! Sheer shirts are defiantly in and i don't actually own a top that is a red colour.  I think it's going to be perfect tucked into a pair of jeans with a brown belt. It's also definitely going to brighten up my winter!

I'm defiantly going to be shopping in charity shops more. Not only am i getting a new item of clothing i'm also giving something to charity too which is a plus! I'd love to hear what your best bargain was from a charity shop!
